Planning a trip this Fall? Consider traveling to Yellowstone National Park to partake in zero-emissions energy technology courtesy of Toyota! There are 208 nickel-metal hydride batteries that are being retired from the Toyota Camry Hybrids they once helped to power, and will be used to power the parkās Lamar Buffalo Ranch field campus. The old nickel-metal hydride battery packs hold a total of 85 kilowatt hours and will be recharged with solar and hydro power. This new energy system is completely emission-free and self-sustaining.
Toyota first became involved with Yellowstone National Park in 2004 when four Toyota Prius vehicles were donated. In 2007, Toyota also donated a Camry Hybrid and a Highlander Hybrid to Yellowstoneās fleet. Most recently, Toyota donated a RAV4 to the Lamar Buffalo Ranch.
