This year, the prestigious Lighthouse Award goes to none other than Dr. Susan Oleszewski, OD '76, MA, FAAO. A true beacon of light and strength in the community, Dr. Oleszewski has dedicated nearly four decades to serving and uplifting the greater Philadelphia area, especially its disadvantaged and underserved children.

Salus University's "Looking Out for Kids" initiative is making waves by providing comprehensive vision care services to thousands of children. Did you know that one in four children suffers from vision problems? The initiative ensures that these children receive the vision care necessary for their educational success.

How You Can Make a Difference
With over 44,500 children screened through the LOFK Initiative since 2010, every dollar raised at the annual charity event goes directly to providing comprehensive vision care and eyeglasses to vulnerable kids. It costs $2,500 for a full day of care, including transportation, comprehensive eye exams, and two pairs of glasses for 16 children.
Our Impact So Far:
Vision screenings to 5,758 children in the School District of Philadelphia
Comprehensive vision and ocular health examinations to 434 children
Distribution of 776 pairs of eyeglasses to public school children
